1939 Champ Car
Owner: Bob and Shirley Munier
A 1939 Champ car, this car has 32 Ford "stepped" frame rails, an early ford front suspension, all aluminum tail, cowl, side panels and hood. It features a Model "C" Ford engine with a full pressure oil system, counterbalanced crank, aluminum pistons, Cragar overhead valve conversion head, dual Stromberg carburetors and a Wico magneto. Power gets to the ground via a '39 Ford transmision and an early Ford rear end with large Studebaker axles. 16" tires are mounted on Dayton "Denta Bite " wire wheels.
In it's prime, this car ran at Gardena, Balboa, Ascot, and both the Oakland 1/2 mile and mile track.
